DOG PROOF FENCING – ABOVE GROUND INSTALLATION

Think that dog proof fencing is only available with wires to bury or in wireless form with a less controlled range? Think again. Worried that an above ground installation will hinder performance? Guess again. An above ground installation will not decrease the effectiveness of the system used. The only issue with an above ground installation is a potential safety hazard if the proper precautions are not taken. To ensure a safe installation of your invisible fence, you must use Securing Staples. With the use of Securing Staples, you will be able to keep the wire flushed to the ground and avoid tripping on the wire. Be sure to follow the directions below in place of burying the wire and read over the included instruction manual that comes with your dog proof fence.

Step 1:

  • The first step is laying out the boundary wire where you want your invisible fence to be. Run the twisted wire to the transmitter and plug it in.

Step 2:

  • Take the Securing Staples and hammer one onto the wire about every five – six feet. When finished, check for any raised areas. If there are any, staple them to the ground. The wire must be completely flushed to the ground.

Step 3:

  • Place a stable where the twisted wire and the beginning of the dog proof fence meet. If there is a splice, be sure to bury it about two inches deep. Place a staple in front and behind the splice to relieve any pressure.

Step 4:

  • Walk to each corner of the yard and place a staple there as well. If the yard is not square, just pick our sections that will act as anchor points. Then continue adding staples to any areas that require it. You do not want a tripping hazard.
